Today we are starting our computing journey! We will learn how to operate ICT suite hardware safely, explore how passwords act as keys to our school server, set up our secure log-in details, and practice our typing skills on ndovu.org.uk/type/!

Step 1: Keyboard Warm-up ⌨️ (10 Mins)

Focus on correct finger placement and light keystrokes. Try typing key computing vocabulary: password, server, security, log in, network, and safety.

Step 2: Password Security & Server Interactive Module 🔐 (25 Mins)

Use the embedded module below to confirm our ICT room safety rules, learn how passwords connect to the school server, test safe password choices, and complete your login verification check!

Check off all four safety rules to show you understand how to keep our computer suite safe:

🚫 No liquids or water: Keep all water bottles far away from computers and keyboards. 🔒 Log Off Properly: Always log off at the end of the lesson so no one else can access your account. 🧹 Clean Workstation: Leave your desk area tidy, push your chair in, and tuck headphones away. 🔑 Keep Passwords Private: Never share your secret login key with anyone except your teacher or parents.

Exit Ticket: Explain to your partner why your computer needs to check with the school server before letting you log in.
